Anna’s thoughts on the creative process: My creative place is top secret. But I can tell you what helps when I’m in a rut. I think you do have to be out experiencing life to be able to create, even if you write or draw fictional things, there’s still a fraction of reality, even if it is the tiniest piece. If I hit a writer’s block or if you hit an artist’s block, just give yourself some space and say yes to something you’d usually say no to, and it can be something as little as reading a book or watching a movie that isn’t in your comfort genre. Another thing that sometimes helps is a prompt. You’d be surprised with what comes out when you have to narrow down your expressions.
