antonym periodically collaborates with visual artists to offer one-of-a-kind merchandise that supports both our volunteer-run literary magazine, as well as the individual artists in our community.
This fall, in addition to the regular submission period devoted to our December 2026 issue of the magazine, we are seeking visual art submissions to feature in an upcoming limited merchandise line. This is a way to highlight the amazing creativity in our antonym community, support our artists, and raise essential funds to keep antonym going (i.e. website hosting and domain costs, subscriptions to design software). Upon the end of the campaign, 60% of proceeds above base cost will go to the artist, and 40% will go to antonym.
The deadline to submit to our 2026 merch campaign is October 15th, 2026. To submit to antonym’s merch campaign, simply click below:
guidelines
antonym has always been a safe space for creative experimentation, allowing makers of all kinds of backgrounds to be seen and heard through their work. Our merch campaign is open to anyone who wants to submit and we hold our community close as we have grown since our start in 2020. With all of this in mind, we find it important to keep our supporters safe. Our community is inclusive and any type of hatred or discrimination will not be tolerated.
For our merch campaign, antonym is happy to accept all manner of visual art submissions in any medium or theme, however, consider that these pieces will be featured on merchandise that may be seen by the general public, and folks from all walks of life. These pieces will be incorporated into some truly fantastic designs that will be available for purchase in early December. Up to 5 submissions may be sent at a time and will automatically be considered for our December 2026 issue unless you choose to opt out.
Please ensure that your submissions reflect YOUR original work. If your piece has been published elsewhere in its current form, congratulations! However, we will only publish previously published work with significant revisions or express permission from original publisher. You are welcome to submit visual art previously published by antonym for consideration for the merch campaign!
We enjoy the opportunity to review your artwork in whichever form it may take! Please let us know if you have any questions by sending our editors an email at antonymliterary@gmail.com.
